Diggerland: The World's Only Excavator-Themed Amusement Park

Imagine an amusement park where children and adults can drive real excavators, mechanical shovels and bulldozers in complete safety. Diggerland represents a unique experience in the world, combining the fascination of earthmoving machines with family fun in a controlled and safe environment.

The Story of a Revolutionary Idea

Diggerland was born from a brilliant intuition of Hugh Edeleanu, president of H.E. Services, the largest supplier of rental excavation construction machinery in Europe. During a family open day in 1996, Hugh observed how children were completely fascinated by construction machinery, treating them as "giant toys" that brought their fantasies to life.

From this vision was born the revolutionary concept of Diggerland: transforming the passion for earthmoving machines into an educational and safe entertainment experience for the whole family. The first park opened in April 2000 in Kent, England, immediately recording extraordinary success with over 20,000 visitors in the first year.

The success was such that in 2003 the park moved to a larger location with capacity for 2,000 visitors per day, and expansion continued with the opening of three other parks in the United Kingdom: County Durham (2001), Devon (2001, reopened in 2022 after a temporary closure) and West Yorkshire (2007).

Diggerland in the World: International Expansion

In 2014, Diggerland crossed the Atlantic opening the first American park in West Berlin, New Jersey, becoming the only construction-themed park in the United States. In 2021, the American park added The Water Main, a construction-themed water park included in the admission price.

A significant turning point occurred in January 2024, when Diggerland USA was acquired by Innovative Attraction Management, the same company that operates Enchanted Forest Water Safari. This acquisition brought important innovations, including the possibility for season pass holders to access both parks at no additional cost.

The Most Spectacular Attractions

JCB 3CX: The Authentic Experience

For future earthmoving machine operators, the JCB 3CX represents the first real experience driving an 8.5-ton backhoe loader. Up to four visitors at a time, accompanied by a qualified assistant, can travel the track learning all the essential cabin controls.

Spindizzy: The Extreme Thrill

The most spectacular attraction uses a Komatsu PC210 weighing over 22 tons transformed into a breathtaking ride. Passengers are placed in additional seats installed in the excavator bucket, living a unique experience that combines the adrenaline of traditional rides with the authenticity of construction machines.

Dumper Trucks and Skittles

The 1-ton Thwaites dumpers with limited engines allow children of all ages to drive safely along specially designed routes. The Skittles attraction tests coordination and precision, challenging visitors to knock down pins using a demolition ball operated with a Komatsu PC14 mini-excavator.

The Water Main: The Themed Water Park

Exclusive to the American park, The Water Main offers a summer cooling experience with wave pools, slides and water play areas, all maintaining the construction theme that characterizes Diggerland.

The Importance of Technology in Real Excavators

Diggerland shows the power of earthmoving machines in a controlled context, but in the real world of construction, every component counts for performance and safety. The excavators used in the park, from small Komatsu machines to powerful JCB backhoes, demonstrate the importance of reliable locomotion systems.

In the daily life of professional construction sites, the difference between efficiency and operational problems often depends on the quality of fundamental components. PowerTrack rubber tracks represent this technical excellence, designed to guarantee grip and safety even in the most complex construction sites, just as happens for the machines that make Diggerland an unforgettable experience.

From Passion to Profession

Beyond pure entertainment, Diggerland plays an important educational role, bringing new generations closer to technical trades and engineering. Direct experience with real machinery helps demystify the construction sector, potentially inspiring future careers in construction, mechanical engineering and related sectors.

For families looking for an adventure that combines fun, education and safety, Diggerland remains an unmissable destination that transforms the dream of driving real construction machines into an accessible and unforgettable reality.
